Philanthropy

Volunteer experience can be fun while directly benefitting the community. Through CCE (Center for Civic Engagement) on campus, it is easy to sign up and find an activity that interests you. You can stop by their office located in the CUB room L45/L48 or you can visit their website: http://cce.wsu.edu/. Through OrgSync, you can browse several service activities in the Pullman area and sign up for them online. There are activities that provide transportation through CCE so you still have the opportunity to participate even if you don’t have a car. To explore the volunteer activities available on OrgSync, you can login using your zzusis login with the following link: https://orgsync.com/50701/chapter.
Examples of some service opportunities through CCE:
-
Orphan Acres Horse Ranch: Here you can visit and work with several rescued horses on the ranch in Viola, Idaho. If you sign up through CCE, they can provide transportation.
-
Bishop Place Manicures: Here you are able to socialize and provide manicures to senior citizens. Transportation also provided by CCE
-
Pen Friends Letter Writer: If you love kids, then this is a great opportunity! Write and receive weekly letters from a student at a local elementary school.
-
Pullman Food Bank: Help out the food bank on Saturdays by sorting and shelving food and distributing it to people
